Terms of reference

The role of the Implementation and Monitoring Working Party is to provide advice or information to the Food Standards Agency Wales, the Welsh Assembly Government and the Welsh Food Advisory Committee on matters related to the delivery of 'Food and Well Being'.
Its functions are :
1. Act as broadly based advisory body concerned with evaluation of the impact of the strategy and its continuing development, and to advise as appropriate on these aspects of Local Health, Social Care and Well-being Strategies and any other complementary strategies at the community level.
2. Identify appropriate means of monitoring progress against specific targets and milestones included in the strategy, and as appropriate to propose additional measures.
3. Inform local and national survey and monitoring programmes to ensure they will deliver relevant data.
4. Review and collate data from surveys and monitoring programmes on dietary intake and health status on an ongoing basis.
5. Ensure projects and activities resulting from the nutrition strategy are evidence based and outcome driven.
6. Provide guidance on methodology for evaluating impact of interventions resulting from the strategy.
7. Review and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, interventions and legislation, and use to inform future action planning.
8. Identify properly evaluated effective interventions, drawing as necessary on experience from other countries with a view to promulgating good practice.
9. Investigate ways of involving stakeholders in the evaluation process to ensure their views are taken into account, and produce an annual report to inform them of progress.
