Food Standards Agency Wales has recently published FIND: Funding for Initiatives on Nutrition and Diet.
This handy little bilingual booklet lists the various agencies, organisations and companies from which funding might be sought on a Wales, UK and European wide basis to support community food initiatives. Additionally, information is provided on useful websites and resources.
Compiled by the Agency, it has been adapted with kind permission from 'Source 2004 - a guide to funding community food projects' published by the Scottish Community Diet Project.
As Lorna Thompson of FSA Wales explains, 'When working to improve diet and health and reduce inequalities in Wales, finding funding is by far the most common problem faced by community projects, initiatives and groups trying to get a project off the ground or looking to continue with existing work. This publication provides a first port of call for information that will start project leaders off on the quest for funding.'
Copies of the booklet can be ordered from the Food Standards Agency Wales on 029 2067 8912 or by emailing nutritionstrategywales@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk.
