School meals - the debate continues

Jamie Oliver brought school meals to the fore with his recent TV series; now the debate comes to Wrexham in a meeting to discuss school meals at an open session of the Welsh Food Advisory Committee of FSA Wales, being held on Wednesday 20 April.
Attendees and members of the Committee will hear from a panel of speakers from the Caroline Walker Trust, the Health Education Trust, the British Nutrition Foundation, a Welsh local authority with an award winning school meals project and representatives from the National Assembly.
Members of the public, parents, governors, headteachers, food producers and retailers, local authority representatives and other organisations with an interest in the provision of school meals are invited to attend this open meeting. Audience members will be invited to share their views on the issues that matter to them, and to comment upon the deliberations during an open question and answer session.
The meeting will be held at the Oriel Gallery, North East Wales Institute of Higher Education in Wrexham.
The Welsh Food Advisory Committee (WFAC) gives advice and information to the Food Standards Agency on its operations in Wales. As part of its commitment to openness, it regularly holds open meetings across the country.
