C03 and C04 Programme Review
A review of the Food Standards Agency's research (C03) and survey (C04) programmes on food contaminants has been completed. The review encompassed around 60 surveys and research projects on mycotoxins (e.g aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, patulin), nitrate and process contaminants (e.g 3-MCPD, ethyl carbamate and acrylamide) in food.

Objectives
- to disseminate to as wide an audience as possible, the breadth and depth of FSA-funded research over the past five years (i.e. since the Agency�s inception) in the areas of mycotoxins, nitrate and process contaminants
- to seek stakeholders' views on the current programmes
- to secure stakeholders ideas and views as to where FSA-funded research in these areas should be (re)directed in the medium term (next five years)
Stakeholder Meeting
Two separate meetings, attended by representatives from the food industry, consumer organisations, laboratories and other Government departments, were held on 18 April 2005 on mycotoxins and nitrate, and 19 April 2005 on process contaminants.
