Marks & Spencer has withdrawn its Wholegrain Mustard (205g) because some of a Dijon mustard product, which contains sulphites, has been packed as wholegrain mustard. This means sulphites are not mentioned on the Wholegrain Mustard product label, making the product a possible health risk for anyone who is sensitive to sulphites.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has welcomed new legislation that comes into force tomorrow, Saturday 26 April. The legislation raises the age at which bovine vertebral column (VC) is classified as Specified Risk Material (SRM) from 24 to 30 months.

The FSA Board discussed, at its meeting earlier this month, the University of Southampton research into the effect of certain artificial colours on hyperactivity in some children.
