Executive summary
The Authority demonstrated a commitment to providing a comprehensive service with evidence of a range of enforcement options being utilised. Increases in the resource available to the food law enforcement service have enabled the Authority to improve performance with regard to its food hygiene inspection programme and to produce comprehensive work procedures as well as developing the proactive elements of its service such as sampling, health promotion and advice to businesses.
Recently introduced internal monitoring systems together with the work procedures should provide a sound basis on which to address other areas of the service such as the investigation of food-borne disease, food standards inspection frequency and continued improvement in the inspection of Approved Premises.
