Third country animal feed establishment activities requiring EU registration

Below is the list of activities carried out by third country (non-EU) establishments that require the establishments to have a representative in the EU.
- Manufacture of vitamins, trace elements, enzymes, micro-organisms, carotenoids and xanthophylls, antioxidants with a maximum permitted level, with a view to putting them into circulation.
- Manufacture of certain protein sources, with a view to putting them into circulation:
- proteins obtained from micro-organisms belonging to the group of bacteria, yeasts, algae, and lower fungi: all products in the group (except for yeasts cultivated on substances of animal or vegetable origin)
- co-products of the manufacture of amino acids by fermentation
- amino acids and their salts
- hydroxy analogues of amino acids
- Manufacture of premixture containing vitamin A and D, copper, selenium, with a view to putting them into circulation.
- Manufacture of additives for which a maximum permitted level is set(this excludes vitamins, trace elements, enzymes, micro-organisms, carotenoid and xanthophylls, antioxidants with a maximum permitted level), with a view to putting them into circulation.
- Manufacture of premixtures containing vitamins (but not vitamins A and D), trace elements (but not copper and selenium), carotenoids and xanthophylls, enzymes, micro-organisms or antioxidants with a maximum permitted level, with a view to putting them into circulation.
- Manufacture of compound feedingstuffs incorporating additives: vitamins (but not vitamins A and D), trace elements (but not copper and selenium),carotenoids and xanthophylls, enzymes, micro-organisms, antioxidants with maximum permitted level, with a view to putting them into circulation.
- Manufacture of compound feedingstuffs incorporating premixtures of vitamins, trace elements, carotenoids and xanthophylls, enzymes, micro-organisms, antioxidants with a maximum permitted level, with a view to putting them into circulation.
The activities above cover certain protein sources and certain non-zootechnical additives. Premixtures and feedingstuffs containing both non-zootechnical and zootechnical additives are classified as zootechnical products and are therefore subject to separate arrangements by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate.
