Nestlé UK Ltd recalls one batch of its own-brand nutrition 'Build-up original' due to plastic contamination

NestleUK Ltd has recalled as a precautionary measure its own-brand Nutrition Build-up original 400g, due to possible presence of small pieces of thin plastic within the product.

The product is a milk-based powder that provides calories, protein, vitamins and minerals and can be added to a wide range of both hot and cold foods and used by patients at risk of malnutrition.

Nestle UK Ltd has undertaken a product recall of the affected batch. Product recall notice will appear in the national press on 12 May 2008. All customers are being contacted and letters will be issued to hospital customers. These notices will advise customers of the reason for the recall and the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected product.

The product being recalled is:

• Nestle Nutrition Build-up Original, 400g
• Best before end: 10/2009
• Batch code: 72760949

No other Nestle UK Ltd products are known to be affected
