Mars UK recalls batches of Maltesers and Revels due to possible rubber contamination

Heads of Environmental Health and Directors of Trading Standards will wish to be aware that Mars UK has recalled certain batches of Maltesers and Revels due to the possible presence of small pieces of food grade rubber within the products.
Mars UK has undertaken a product recall of all the affected batches. Product recall notices will appear in the National Press on 5 September 2007 and Point of Sale Notices will be displayed at all retail outlets. These notices will advise customers of the reason for the recall and the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected products.
The affected products are:
Maltesers all sizes packaged within bags, pouches, boxes, Pick N Mix or pots and bearing Best Before dates:
16/12/2007
23/12/2007
30/12/2007
06/01/2008
Revels all sizes packaged within bags, pouches, boxes or pots and bearing Best Before dates:
16/12/2007
23/12/2007
30/12/2007
06/01/2008
13/01/2008
No other batch codes or Mars UK products are known to be affected.

Milk Chocolate Maltesers and Revels
As a precautionary measure, certain batches of Milk Chocolate Maltesers and Revels are being recalled because there is a slight risk that a small number of packs within the affected batches may contain small pieces of rubber.
This recall concerns only:
Milk Chocolate Maltesers in bags, pouches, boxes, Pick N Mix and pots with Best Before dates between 16.12.07 and 06.01.08 (inclusive) and
Revels in bags, pouches and pots with Best Before dates between 16.12.07 and 13.01.08 (inclusive).
