United Biscuits recalls certain batches of its Crawford's Bourbon Cream Biscuits due to possible metal contamination

United Biscuits has recalled certain batches of its Crawford's Bourbon Cream Biscuits due to the possible presence of small pieces of thin metal wire. The source of the potential contamination has been identified and remedial action has been taken.
United Biscuits has undertaken a product recall of the affected batches. Product recall notices have been placed in today's national press. These notices advise customers of the recall and the actions they can take if they have already purchased the affected product.
The products being recalled are:

Crawford's Family Circle Tin 1.5kg –
Best Before Date: 27.09.08
Crawford's Bourbon Creams 150g –
Best Before Dates: 21.06.08 / 28.06.08
Crawford's Bourbon Creams 300g –
Best Before Date: 22.03.08
Crawford's Bourbon Minipacks –
Best Before Dates: 22.03.08 / 29.03.08 / 05.04.08
Crawford's Rover Packet 400g –
Best Before Dates: 29.03.08 / 05.04.08 / 12.04.08
Crawford's Rover Assortment Tin 1kg –
Best Before Date: end June 2008
No other batches of United Biscuits Crawford’s Bourbon Cream Biscuits are known to be affected.
