Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc and Co-operative Group Supermarkets have withdrawn their own brand beef paste 75g size due to incorrect labelling information. The product contains minimum traces of milk protein that is not declared, making it unsafe for people who are allergic or intolerant to milk.
The affected product was manufactured by Shippams Foods and supplied to Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc and Co-operative Group Supermarkets, which have withdrawn the product from sale. Product withdrawal notices have been placed in stores to alert consumers who are allergic or intolerant to milk and advise them of what actions to take if they have purchased the product. In addition, the Anaphylaxis Campaign and Allergy UK have been contacted, and Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc as placed a withdrawal notice in the press.
