Product recall of 'stubbie' bottles of Castlemaine XXXX and Stella Artois

A product recall has been issued by Interbrew UK of certain batches of Castlemaine XXXX and Stella Artois. These products have been withdrawn from sale on a precautionary basis due to a minor defect in the glass caused during the manufacturing process.

The products recalled are:
Castlemaine XXXX, and Stella Artois, 25cl 'Stubbies', sold in multipacks of 10, 20 and 24 bottles, bearing 'best before' dates of JUL05, AUG05 and SEP05. The 'best before' dates can be found on the shoulder of the bottles and on the cardboard packaging.

They have been sold to all major retailers and off licences. Interbrew UK has informed their customers of the product recall.

No other bottle, pack size or 'best before' date is affected by this recall.

The company has undertaken a product recall of the affected products, and has issued a product recall notice, press release and arranged for point of sale notices at major retailers. They have set up a consumer helpline to which queries can be directed. The help line number is 0870 2411124.
