Unpasteurised cheeses contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes

Loch Arthur Creamery, Camphill Village Trust, Beeswing, Dumfries, has recalled two different types of cheeses due to contamination by Listeria monocytogenes. The cheeses have been sold throughout the UK.
Loch Arthur Creamery has undertaken a full product recall, arranged for point of sale notices to be displayed and issued a press release.
Identification of Product:
Criffel (semi-soft, rind washed cheese): 'best before' 13 December 2004
Crannog (full fat soft cheese): 'best before' 11 January 2005
It is understood that these cheeses would have been on sale before 15 November 2004 and consumers who purchased the cheese before this date are being advised not to eat the cheese and to either destroy it or return it to the retailer.
