I'm sorry to pick holes, but surely the value of this supposedly independent consultation was severely compromised by comments made to the press by Geoffrey Podger yesterday. I suggest that he thinks his comments through in future as having read the draft last night I would never have dreamt that it could lead to this mornings news stories. Due to his actions yesterday you may very well have provoked another food scare as opposed to achieving a balanced analysis of the situation and I think that he should quite seriously consider whether his position in the FSA is still tenable.
