Meat and bone meal made from chicken waste is exported to Thailand, to be fed to chickens to be exported back to UK. Can this be right or safe. This practice is illegal in UK, UK producers use expensive vegetable proteins, do not feed antibiotics as growth promotors and test for salmonella at all stages. The home market is now flooded with cheap imports that are not policed, food processors and retailers pay lip service to high standards but at the end of the day it is only price that matters.Are you representing a special interest group?
