I have just lost a dear friend because he was suffering from CJD (according to hospital diagnosis). His family and friends have had to stand by helplessly as he literally deteriorated before our eyes. His wife, especially, has been put through the most horrendous ordeal. Also his daughter, who has a son aged nearly two, and is heavily pregnant at the moment (due in November).

I gather this has been some research done regarding farmers and other farm workers who deal with animals, and which areas of the country are affected.

But what research is being done into the deaths of ordinary people, to find out where they might have eaten meat from suspect animals, and what particular parts of the country are most affected?

It is very important that the public should be made aware of this information.
